Central Florida Community School becomes Central Florida Preparatory School
In 2001 the school was renamed Central Florida Preparatory School. What had opened as a community school for students who weren't being served elsewhere had become a preparatory institution, with a growing high school and graduates going on to demanding universities. The name caught up with the work.
Founder Bob Flanders died the following year, on June 27, 2002. The athletic and performing arts center that opened on the Apopka campus in 2026 carries his name.
